Today's Electronic Toothbrush, The ORAL-B iO - Revolutionary technology in the fight against gingivitis and cavities.

Oral-B Electronic Toothbrush

It's great that you have developed a solid oral care regimen and are brushing your teeth twice daily, especially after every meal if possible. By far, this is the best way to keep those pearly whites shining as bright as can be while also keeping cavities and gingivitis ( gum disease ) at bay.  And, while you're at it, please don't forget also to floss. Consider flossing to be the finishing touch to your daily oral care routine.

In one form or another, toothbrushes have been around, seemingly forever. The ancient Egyptians are credited with having developed the first " toothbrushes " by fraying the ends of twigs and using these chew sticks to root excess food particles from one's teeth. That doesn't sound very user-friendly, now, does it? During the 1400's, it is said that the Chinese came up with the first natural bristle toothbrush using, wait for this; pigs' hair for the bristles and shaved bone or specially crafted bamboo for the handle. Hey, at least it's a step up from those awful chewsticks!  During the late 1700's Englishman William Addis invented a toothbrush that does resemble ( albeit in a quite primitive state ), the type of toothbrush we use.  The enterprising Mr. Addis attached those oh-so-popular pig bristles to a handle that was rather artistically carved from cow bone. For more than one hundred fifty years, Addis' toothbrush was considered the gold standard, if you will. That is until 1938 when the DuPont Company came up with nylon bristles. This was a HUGE step in making that toothbrush in your bathroom's medicine cabinet, more hygienic and easier to mass-produce. The toothbrush that you are currently using is not that far removed from the one that the DuPont organization invented.

However, the rather placid, unimaginative toothbrush industry had its world turned upside down when, in 1954, Doctor Phillipe-Guy Woog designed an electric-powered device in his home country of Switzerland. The device needed to be plugged into a wall socket. But, at the time, this electrically charged toothbrush seemed to be something that Star Trek's Captain Kirk would utilize on the starship Enterprise. In the early 1960's General Electric designed the first battery-powered, portable toothbrush and it has proved to be a blessing for those of us who seek options, aside from the standard manual toothbrush, for keeping our teeth clean.

For far too many years, though, the basic electric toothbrush, helpful as it is, has remained rather stagnant in terms of product innovation and development. Until NOW, that is. Meet the latest HIGH-TECH weapon in the fight against tooth decay and cavities, the truly sensational ORAL-B iO.  This device is a " smart " electric toothbrush in every sense of the word. The ORAL-B iO has a ton of breakthrough features that will make you say WOW!  Remember that the mouth is the doorway to the rest of your body. The ancient Greek philosophers and doctors got it right. The better care that you take of your mouth, the better off your entire body will be.  Right by your side is the ORAL-B-iO, presenting revolutionary technology for a truly one-of-a-kind brushing experience.

Over the past few years, many dentists have been recommending that their patients introduce electric toothbrushes into their oral care routine.  And the ORAL-B iO is at the forefront in the new way to fight gum disease and tooth decay one is saying that the trusty old standby manual brushes aren't any good. They definitely get the job done when used properly. It's just that electric, battery-powered toothbrushes possess a ton of advantages that are game-changers!

For one thing, they are EASIER to use. The automated brushing action requires a minimal amount of effort. Kids find them to be kind of fun while older seniors, who may have limited dexterity and mobility issues, consider the electronic toothbrush to be a godsend. Another plus is due to the fact that , because electric toothbrushes vibrate or oscillate at a much higher speed than the human hand, they excel at PLAQUE REMOVAL and DEEP CLEANING. Those bothersome food particles between your teeth and in your gums haven't got a chance! When it comes to CONSISTENT BRUSHING, electric toothbrushes outperform the manual kind by a wide margin. Nowadays most state-of-the-art electric toothbrushes come standard with built-in timers and pressure sensors to ensure that you brush for the two minutes that dentists advise and that the right amount of pressure is applied. Having a heavy hand with a manual toothbrush is NOT a good thing.  Did you know that electric toothbrushes also have a positive effect on GUM HEALTH? These marvels of technology are adept at removing thick disgusting bacteria next to your gums, which helps them to heal. They're good at massaging gum tissue which improves blood oxygenation. One of the benefits that dental professionals love the most is that these high-tech toothbrushes help their patients to develop BETTER BRUSHING HABITS by automatically moving the brush for the user. Talk about getting into the swing of things.
